This is so helpful!! I have had a lot of success on Itch with bundling my novellas and I think my next step is looking at StoryOrigin and Campfire!

Beyond KU, though, Amazon is still responsible for the majority of global book sales. I am a wide author and not enrolled in KU, but my books are still on Amazon, and I get the majority of my sales there. I think I'd be a bit curious to understand what you've done differently,especially without ads.

Different readers have different values and I try to make sure readers know I'm probably on their platform of choice.

I make it known my books are elsewhere and make it part of my strategy to talk about and promote what other platforms have going for them. I talk about how Itch, GumRoad, and my direct store are DRM free. I talk about Campfire having bonus content. I talk about Kobo e-readers having great features.

You have to decide for yourself if you want to stay or go, but for many writers, especially queer writers, that decision may be made for you, soon. Even if you plan on staying until you are forcibly removed, it doesn't hurt to know what else is out there.

And I will say, this is the fourth month in a row that I have sold more books on Itchio than on Amazon. If you're looking for a place where queer fiction is thriving and only want to maintain 1 other platform, Itch seems to be the one that queer readers and authors are setting up shop.
