This guy had a university degree, which was the death of most of his friends, but he survived because - being a metalworker - he had callouses on his hands. The soldiers who killed the others let him go.
I don’t know the documentary, but this guy’s story makes me respect Daniel Day-Lewis even more for taking a few years off from acting in the ‘90s to apprentice to a master cobbler in Italy.
