Like a lot of hiQ social sci work, this has a fatal flaw: the authors assume zero responsibility for putting data into a format that anyone other then a PhD will understand

As a result, no one will pay attn, cause aside from a nanoscopic number of PhDs, who understands fits to a model ?

Authors generally don't have control over exactly when a piece will be published by a journal but, fwiw, I know for a fact that the authors are working on a public-facing / mass audience writeup of this piece!

More generally, I tend to agree with you, and this is exactly why all peer-reviewed research like this published by Brennan Center researchers is also accompanied with public-facing writeups (even if not immediately)!!!!

Everything can't be everything. It's almost impossible to write an academic journal that is both A) technical enough to provide sufficiently rigorous statistical evidence for its claims to pass peer review, and B) accessible to non-experts

Thanks for sharing this. It’s a reminder that when Trump and MAGA would claim “they” are stealing the election, they would always point to urban centers (Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia) with concentrations of Black voters. Trump sees Whites as the victims.
