Spotted this funky structure in Stanage today. Surprisingly, it's a grouse drinking bowl from 1907. Each bowl had a number etched next to it so the landowner could track payment of bowls carved.

Unsettling to think how grouse have had such an enduring impact on Stanage's environment and heritage.
