unrelated to this, but I love going through informative archived internet sites from the web 1.0 period. quite bare-bones and minimal, but seems like an interesting time (that I didn’t experience).

So once you're in, you land on this page; I want to draw attention to the "Arrange Theme" bit; the MvC1 soundtrack release advertises this web page so that you can download some newly arranged MvC1 themes that are actually a bit different from the actual game.

Specifically, they're slightly remixed versions of Wolverine & Chun-Li's themes. I figured the links would be dead, given they're archived from a 26 year old web page at this point, and the WAV links are absolutely dead.

...But the .AIF links aren't! Here's Chun's. The intro is slightly longer than the theme in the final game, and the quality is fuzzy because again, AIF file from 26 years ago, but it's neat to hear the slight differences compared to the final game!

...and here's Wolverine's arranged theme. Again, the quality is fuzzy and there's no way around that but hey, new(ish) CPS2 music, I'll take it. Definitely sounds a bit different compared to the theme used in the final game.

Now for the good stuff. "Producer's Essay" is a five part dev diary from the game's producer, Kenji Kataoka. He's actually still at Capcom today, having back office credits in Dragon's Dogma II, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster and Kunitsu-Gami.
