So far all work has been done during weekends and evenings, from January to June 2025 I will be able to additionally dedicate three workdays per week to it. While the App is still in beta test and growing the userbase is not the main focus currently, current activity levels are very promising and show that it will be feasible to generate a very large open, CC0-Licensed, dataset which hopefully can be used for various analysis & maybe even inform policy.

The App is Open Source (MIT-Licensed) and available here: https://github.com/AurelWu/IndoorCO2AppMAUI . The Data is available here: https://indoorco2map.com/chartdata/IndoorCO2MapData.zip (CC0-Licensed - currently missing the transit Data as this is a recent feature, but will be added soon).

It's not but as it uses open streetmap data the coverage might vary a lot between countries and be rather incomplete or even nearly non-existent in some.

This interests me as I just bought an Aranet4 home CO2 monitor. I have been testing indoor spaces everywhere I go. Fascinating. Scary. Reassuring sometimes. I don't see any data points on the west coast of Canada. How can I help?

You can download the Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aurelwu.indoorairqualitycollector or iPhone (https://testflight.apple.com/join/OoHmnOVX) App and start contributing. The App does not need any user registration and is already rather easy to use, but there isn't a tutorial/manual yet. Just ask if anything doesn't work.

It's a bit unintuitively done by Apple, after installing Testflight you need to click on the marked link on https://indoorco2map.com/about.html and then something like in the 2nd Image should show up (just in english for you)

I did my first 2 recordings today and submitted the data. I may not have put the location (Update Location; missed that button) before submitting it, but I think I got the hang of it. I didn't realize I needed to let the Aranet4 take readings for 5 minutes or I would have started it sooner.

the update location button is only needed to select the location before the recording (and when recording public transport to select the destination), so I think you did everything right.

Thanks. Got it. But now it's updating in my apartment. I don't think that's useful as I'm alone here. Should I just close the TestFlight app until I'm out in a public space?

The App does not transmit data unless you click on search for a Location (which only shows public accessible buildings and not private homes / offices etc.) and then click on Start Recording and finally on Submit Recording - so you can totally install it at home.
