Maybe I'm being hyperbolic, but Fatal Fury MEANT something to me once upon a time, more than KoF did as much as I enjoy that series. It's the one I latched onto when discovering SNK games in college. Now it feels like they're reviving it in a way Victor Frankenstein would find maddening!
