Where are we getting our news these days? Looking for legit, sources for what's happening without pandering to the current administration, and without pulling punches like calling it an "awkward hand gesture"

In addition to the what others have said: MPRNews is still decent (not to be confused with NPR which has been less reliable of late). Unicorn Riot is great for live on the ground coverage, editorially they can be all over because of how they're organized though.

Yesterday I deleted them. Too much following in mainstream media footsteps looking for engagement over solid journalism for my tastes. I have a 30 min rule for the next 4 years and I'm making deep cuts.

The Guardian is not owned by any of the Billionaires arrayed behind Trump at his inauguration. It is funded by a private trust, so it can stay independent. I recently subscribed.
Also, I am putting together a list here on BlueSky. Our in person/know well friends from FB who don't do well with Bluesky type social because they aren't interested in millions of people they don't know and just want to make dinner plans. 🤣
