They have been observed showing interest in celestial objects, such as the moon, but interpreting this as "worship" is anthropomorphism at best, and certainly drawing a long bow.
Having said that, I'd like to see a proper study.
It is also known that elephant venerate the dead in some way, going out of their way on migrations to the do vigils at the bones of past matriarchs or elders or the herd. Again, calling it worship could be anthropomorphism, but they do seem to at least have some form of reverence
I usually prefer to just point to the fact the appeal to nature fallacy doesn't work for human morale rather than... using it the other way around (because, duh, it still doesn't work... it's a fallacy...)
but I guess one fights the good fight with the tools at one's disposal...
I mean it's not really using it the other way around. It's pointing out that to even use the fallacy, they had to misrepresent the nature they cited in the first place
Iirc (and I am not an expert) there are experiments with some animals (birds I think) forming superstitious behaviour. It involved food being given at random and them adopting whatever behaviour they think makes the food come. So uh, forming false beliefs might be a thing other critters do?
It has something to do with pattern recognition seeing causal relations that aren't really there, which is just a few steps from imagining an abusive father in the sky

Just saying 'gay' doesn't do it justice, nature is bisexual as fuck - and it'll fuck with anything.

Someone never had a fever dream where they came up with an idea for a movie called “Pet Seminary” and all the priests in training were cats and dogs.

Its more natural to be gay, than it is to be religious.
