So a bit off topic, I have a question! Is this area of the model shaded like that with paint, or is it dark like that because of the natural lighting you use? Visualizing shaded parts of models is kinda hard for me for some reason.

It's both shaded and probably naturally in shadows due to the fact i use natural lighting for my pictures.

If you do a zenithal, should you take a picture to kidna remember where the highlights are supposed to be, then paint the same basecoat for the top and bottom, then glaze down for the shadows?

I don't do zénithal.

It's more practice and habit that make me know where to put the light on the model. Especially since i paint in subassemblies.
