this is a good time to note that the proposed candidate for NIH director has never run a lab, cared for patients, led a major research and healthcare institution, or been a principal investigator on an NIH grant

I don’t see how one can conclude anything else from saying “it’s a must watch film” without reservation. He should be asked about this endorsement by the HELP committee.
It's clear that for every position trump has the ability/responsibility to appointment, the only requirement is that they have ZERO experience pertaining to the position &/or that people in the field don't respect the candidate
All he's done is sit behind a laptop and complain how real doctors and scientists were mean to him because he can't handle disagreement and being wrong.
One thing people could find out looking more closely: Bhattacharya led an experiment with human subjects and didn’t publish the result because he didn’t like what the result was (the MLB seroprevalence study)
An interviewer caught him off guard and asked why, in private, he had said he was feeling blue about the results… results were never published outside of press releases.

(but the NIH REPORTER link doesn't go anywhere useful to confirm this is the same person; I inferred it from the abstract)
