Google seems to be doing a fine job all by themselves destroying their dominance in search. I don't get how spinning off Chrome or Android really helps level the playing field--opening up access to their data to other player seems like it would be more useful.
Exactly going after an open source platform makes NO sense. Chrome isn't Google Search. Android is open source and used independently on hundreds of TVs and phones.
If you're going to go after someone maybe Apple? None of these manufacturers or Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera etc. depend on Chromium.
This will disincentivize innovation. IF Google is engaging in illegal trade practices, call them out for it and hold them accountable. Building a better mousetrap doesn't prevent anyone else from doing the same.

Chromium is like 75% of the most used browsers. It's nonsensical.
They could stop supporting it, then make a closed source browser called "Jester" or something and screw over the devs that rely on Chromium

Apple - closed source ecosystem. Only iPhones/iPads/Computers can use iOS. Fine.
AndroidOS - Open source with many manufacturers, used in TVs and tons of other devices. Split it up!
I don't see either of these getting through.
60% (pulling that out of my ass) of the Web is built off Twitter/Bootstrap because it's open source.
Seems like the DOJ is confusing chrome with Google search
It's nonsensical. Why not break up the Safari as it's closed sourced.
This will fail spectacularly.
Why Elon gets to keep bugging Trump.
