“Even if Bluesky is my preferred place right now, it’s still comparatively small to Threads and X.”
True. But not not too small where it’s a wasteland but also not too big that it’s full mainstream.
20 million is a lot of people when you consider that Threads was a very easy song-up and friend migration, and x has a legacy membership of accounts but most are bots.
I’ll never trust Meta enough to even try Threads. Sorry Mark, suicidal teens, Cambridge Analytica, privacy sucking data collection and feeds at the mercy of your corporate greed for some reason don’t appeal to me.
The great joy of Bluesky is that members realised from early on that *blocking*, early and often, was essential to avoid recreating the other place.
No slacking!
Didn't like X even though I am pro-Elon because feed is poor. Was forced to go to the pages of the people I wanted info from. Tried Mastodon but couldn't figure it out and went back to X. This time Bluesky has a keeper.
I'm happy to have left Twitter just before it became X. It thrills me to know I never had an X account. And I'm also happy to have left threads, where I was told what to see instead of what I followed.
They are transferring the site to Wordpress, and Wordpress ActivityPub integrations are already pretty built up so I imagine that's a lot easier to do than it sounds. Nothing similar for AT Protocol yet
I think Bluesky may take the lead in the long run! Because of the AT protocol. I learned about Bluesky only a few days ago and the AT protocol looks promising for all kinds of decentralized apps and services.
People talk a lot about the feeds, which is powerful. For me is the stackable moderation where a lot of the power resides. The idea that as a user I can craft my experience based on my preferences is truly what makes this site great.
I love this but honest, I still don’t see why an emperor … wait… lol. Are we speaking about what’s not happening in America over the next four years or twittsville please? Soo there’s a naked emperor running around again is there? Phew. Some Sites get all the action, wait-Class action sexual what plz
Absolutely true. It’s crucial for influential figures and major companies to fully transition to Bluesky and delete Twitter altogether. This would not only attract the wider public but also leave Twitter as nothing more than an echo chamber for far-right extremists and pro-russian voices.

A bright light in a dark space.
It's funny how the consensus is "lol bluesky libs echo chamber snowflakes insert buzzword here" Vs normal peoplem
The internet is where the dregs of humanity degrade the quality of the rest of us.
I prefer that Bluesky be the next show of integrity & quality humanity/humor/arts/dialog/information.
