Tariffs have only one payer - consumers in the US. This is what the MAGAs voted for. Merry & expensive Christmas, and all the holidays before that. And again every year until 2027, when there is a chance to wise up.

Yes, often.
Import prices rise.
Domestic prices rise, since they only compete with the higher price.
The market adjusts to the new price, new alternatives, new demand. When the tariff is removed, the price sticks since the market has adjusted.
