The names are said NUMEROUS times through the game. How are you mispronouncing them repeatedly? And then when someone points it out, they're just like, yeah, I dunno why I do that, it just sounds better to me.
OMFG these are the same people who do that in real life to real life people. STOP IT.

last year one of my kids summer job supervisor kept calling this boy named hamza, HAMAS, and apologizing and doing it again. the entire summer! and he was the only middle eastern/non-black kid in the whole program

JFC. These types of people are INSUFFERABLE. I cannot stand it. And I know it's definitely even worse with non-white non-English names. I think that's what's pissing me off here, like, these people are white and you can't even be bothered. how much MORE of an asshole are you towards other names?

It costs NOTHING to be kind and ask how to pronounce a name, and then practice until you get it correct. But gods forbid they ever admit they don't know something and need to learn.

and to be clear this program is for disabled youth and usually run by adults with disabilities too and she said she had adhd. but i don't think that's an excusable reason. when politics like this are happening that affect arabs/muslims and YOU'RE the adult you do whatever you can to pay attention
