This has emboldened some absolute scum to come out from under their rocks. That rapist guy has 4.2K responses & a completely ineffectual warning. I got a 24 hour for calling someone a gimp but threatening rape is fine. Plus he’s monetised.
It's going to get worse as more people see that saying anything you want results in no punishment. A lot of it may be intended for shock value, which results in RTs, which can result in extra money but I guess that's what happens when you monetise tweets.
It’s what Musk wanted. I think a lot of us knew that he was going to sink Twitter but I didn’t realise how low he was going to go. All the bollocks about citizen journalism & the town square. If that means women being threatened with rape I don’t want to be in that town.
It's actually scary how fast the "your body, my choice" thing has spread throughout the platform. I never thought I'd see so many pro-rape posts, it's worse than 4chan.
