Children are not the target. Children are the excuse. Verifying all Australian social media users against government issued ID is the target.

It's not just Australian users though. They are saying social media companies need to detect VPN use as well

you need to prove you're not a child ie upload a government issued document that states your date of birth (passport, license etc)
