I for one could not sell my values and principles to support a football team. If this was the way Celtic fans behaved not to mention a club that wouldn’t sign a Catholic for decades I simply wouldn’t support them.
I get what you're saying Nicola but my point is it shouldn't be like that. It's just a football team and people have lots of reasons for being in one fandom or another, usually something something my dad or my friends. As long as blue or green equals all these other things we'll be trapped by it.
Celtic support all groups of individuals who are oppressed e.g. Palestine. We were founded by Irish priests. Left wing politics is engrained in why Celtic was founded (to feed the poor). Our history is categorically left wing. For that reason it’s tricky to separate football and politics.
And that's very much in line with my politics but I don't support Celtic as a team any more than I support Rangers. I hate to see Scotland divided and I feel these pigeon holes that we make ourselves are being used to do just that. A leftwing rangers supporter is possible, and is good.
I believe it’s possible and I welcome it. I hate seeing Scotland divided. Unfortunately the baseline of your support do things like I’ve shown above. Not sure if it’s because they actually think like that or just want to support the opposite of what we support.

You defending their horrible take by trying to look like a good apple in a batch of rotten apples does not make sense.
