Homosociality explains why straight men care so much about other men and so little about women, so there's no need to jump straight to "secretly gay" every time a straight man performs for other men. That's just sparkling homophobia.

Homosociality’s a lens, sure, but it’s steeped in toxic masc vibes that sideline women and femmes. Calling it ‘sparkling homophobia’ dismisses how queerphobia and misogyny intertwine. Straight men’s bromances don’t erase the violence of patriarchy—they prop it up
I'm not sure how homosociality is opposed to the notion that bromances prop up patriarchy? And I do think that the move to immediately label men performing for men as secretly gay is based on homophobia.
