If you can figure out your trigger food, it will help your recovery. Mine is tomatoes, especially Italian tomato sauces.

I also eventually went gluten-free. Some pasta was an issue.

For my mom, her trigger food was runny eggs.

Don't have a wedding party consisting of drunk people show up to visit you in the evening. I was supposed to be in a friend's wedding as a groomsman. I yeeted, and woke up to a GI tube going down my throat pumping neon green fluid, and Brenda (my forever nurse) telling me to be calm about it.
