The book will be out later this year. But I am not just a scientist. I am a human being, and the news that we breached 1.5C last year (maybe temporarily I know!), plus what is happening in S. California is very grim. But now on with the chapter.... 🧪 #siliceousplants

I will read your books.. As an applied scientist, my team and I are looking for a model simulation, that accounts for both sequestration gain and loss.

Full accountability of carbon must be accomplished direct and indirect.

There is no such thing as carbon zero.

Yes, but I do a lot more of that with my science communication work. The book chapter has lots of ideas for how we might tackle the problem, but is more in scientific language!

It is critical we get started on engineering solutions. Emissions will not stop or be controlled in any serious way. We need to be able to engineer solutions from multiple angles. We need control of earth's temp for hundreds of thousands of years to come no matter what changes occur.

Two of the "solutions" we cover in this chapter (C sequestration in phytoliths and enhanced weathering) are attempts to take carbon out of the atmosphere. They are not the only ones out there, but I reckon we need to try everything!

Love you for your efforts even though I'd barely understand, but I get the bigger picture, and it's a fight we should all be fighting in anyway we can.
