I’ve not driven since my stroke in 2017, and I am in need of a vehicle for business. I’m thinking about taking a drivers ed or defensive driving course, before I spend the money, any thoughts?
I definitely think that as someone who’s survived a stroke, you may need to retrain those neural pathways and I think that would be safest with a drivers ed teacher who was understanding of your condition ❤️
You’re very lucky! Maybe a test drive with a trusted friend to see where you’re at behind the wheel then before investing money? I’ve been a caregiver for a few stroke survivors, including my stepdad who lost mobility on one side but still insisted on driving!
It was scary first few drives but he got the hang of it eventually. Was always a car guy & an excellent driver and it was one of the few passions he had left, he even would go off-roading. Also being stuck at home all the time is not good for anyone’s mental health!
