If you want to stifle research and innovation, go after visiting researchers. Anybody who works with post-docs knows that a big percentage of them are from overseas. This one event is small scale, but the suspension of grants at NIH is killing research on a large scale.

This is terrible. I did a residency at Brown. By "transplant specialist" it seems they mean she is a nephrologist specializing in transplant patients. This is a key part of any transplant program and she's a highly valuable member of that team. This is a big loss. Thank you trump/elon/vance.
