I think so but also like the fear of a blank page, not liking the quality I'm giving out at the moment, not knowing what to draw and then just not having any energy for it
Dude I was so pissed yesterday in this exact state of mind. Do you have something small, like cards or something instead of larger sheets of paper? I ended up taping off my sketch book and doing a bunch of small sketches. They were quick and if I didn’t like it, I didn’t mess up a whole page.
Another bit of advice I was given (which is what led me to the sketches) was when you feel like this, DO A STUDY. Literally give yourself a class. You’re gonna suck anyway, you’re learning. So it helps me let go of not being happy with quality
I watch a fuck ton of YouTube. TikTok I’m sure has them as well. When I say study, I mean like an in depth practice. Like flowers. Pick one flower, and draw it facing different ways. Pull 10 photos of it and try to match the colour gradient.
Huge part of art skill is mastering the basics. Thats another place to start. Grab a watercolor techniques YT video and practice them when you’re feeling stuck. I have practice sheets laying around that’s just a bunch of blending and brushstrokes. Can even treat it like a warm up!
