i have never liked it when people whined about something ‘bombing’ because it ‘only got 1/10/100/1000/etc likes/reblogs/comments’, because that’s a whole bunch of actual people who who enjoyed what you made. it’s always made me feel like those people don’t matter, but it all matters. each one

understandable, It's hard to not feel sad about it when some get more visual numbers but there's also no way for people to who if anyone saw the art they posted. You just have to hope that many liked it but didn't engage with it

It's hard to detach from that number-chasing, follower count scrutinizing, content factory mindset.

Took me some time to mostly move past it and just post what I post when I post it.

It gets worse too as you start to regularly get 1000, 10000, 100000 etc likes on a piece. Then the temptation to measure your worth against your statistics becomes really bad. But end of the day, each of those numbers is a person thinking ‘wow that’s neat!’ and it’s easy to lose track of that
