@krubner.bsky.social told me that the first romance novel about cyberspace is from 1879, a love story of two telegraph operators, one of whom initially decides to remain anonymous. The novel was called "Wired Love: A Romance of Dots and Dashes"
Apparently, OD has been with us for at least 146 years.
