Pathfinder has always been a better system and setting than D&D. Paizo is also just a much better and more consumer friendly publisher than WotC/Hasbro.

Finally someone who gets it. I've read up on Pathfinder lore and its so vast and detailed. Originally I got into it because of my love for the kitsune lore they had there and I've always been so excited to read new things about the setting and different races.
Pathfinder has been my preferred fantasy rpg since before 5e even dropped so it's hard for any D&D to beat it and WotC just keeps wrecking any chance I have of even possibly tolerating D&D nowadays
I wish I had started the early. As a DM, theres so many ideas that I specifically got from reading about the lore and worldbuilding that really helped me create a world tailored to my players interests. I struggled so much with that when DMing 5e
So 5e leaves a tonne of the rules and interpretations up to the DM at the cost of having a very barebones rulebook for DMs to go off of. The idea of "rulings not rules" is not necessarily a bad thing but the way its been done leaves a lot to be desired. Some DMs can handle it. Some don't like it.
