I mean, you specifically also used “you” to reply to me without knowing my views on the value of primarying ineffective Dems and electing the most progressive Dems possible

Oh, and more importantly, you used it in combo with "shut the fuck up," which is not helpful advice. it's the most hostile way you could have phrased it.
I concede that on reflection that my distinction about past/future isn't applicable, but I don't think I was hostile in the way you were.
I will also concede that “shut the fuck up” was unnecessarily hostile. My explanation (not an excuse) is years of experience listening to online leftists tear down Dem candidates in general elections, particularly amplified when the Dem candidate is a woman.
I can hear that. As I said elsewhere, I have never, ever thrown fire at a Dem in a general or even thrown fire at Dems at all, but I was broken by the weak-ass shit earlier this year voting for Trump nominees & the CBR (with staged filibuster that they caucused about and agreed to kill themselves.)
Agree that there has been a lack of effective opposition from the Dem leadership in particular. The voting for Trump nominees is one thing (Trump still got the most horrible people confirmed even when all Dems opposed them), but giving up the govt shutdown leverage is sheer political malpractice.
yeah. That was so bad that even the Dems I've supported (I have given a bit of money and a lot of full-throated support to Wyden & Merkley) I'm pissed at for not removing Schumer. Ugh.
Shall we both we agree to use “one” instead? You can say “one needs to primary Dems who suck verily” and I can reply “indeed! however then one needs to be a bulwark for the victor, yea, even if that Dem sucketh the most”
I'm in agreement with this. Part of why I reacted badly to what you said was that I thought this was what I had said originally - primary the hell out of the current Dems, who, IMO, suck, then in the general vote for the "best" person even if you think that's the best of 2 bad choices.
The only reason I didn't directly say, "Then vote for the Dem in the general," is that there are states w open primaries where the top 2 face off. California is one where two Ds could face each other in the general.

It's also a statement about what ought to be done in the future. It's not a claim to know what you, personally, have done in the past.
That said, I'll pay attn to my use of "you".
I concede that on reflection that my distinction about past/future isn't applicable, but I don't think I was hostile in the way you were.
But yes. We're in agreement.
