Got an update from @knewton.bsky.social who did the same recipe but not using oat milk and hers also came out pale. We both used an egg wash. Now to figure out why. More work must be done in the name of science.

I made a double batch of gluten free crescent rolls and while they look good & baked, they didn’t get golden.
Is it possibly because I used oat milk instead of cow milk? #chemistswhocook
