In the same sense as communism doesn't work in real world, a world without the need to protect principles and people against criminals doesn't exist. Thus, we have the options to not protect our democracies, to relay on others to help us, or to enable ourselves to fight against those threatening us.

Additionally we need a revival of diplomacy, still I don't believe in successful negotiations with people like Putin as long as we are in this weak position.
