Make no mistake, plastic is definitely a problem but it’s also possible for humans can “evolve” (for lack of a better word) to adapt to plastics in their bodies.
We are becoming more plastic just living in so much of it. It is a fairly new product that has made the worst impact to air quality, water quality and a mess in so many places. The idea of recycling, is about 10 percent. Tons go into burning for energy. Use less, recycle smarter.
Mass of human brain: 1300-1400 grams. Multiply by 5000μg/g and we get 6.5-7.0 million μg which is 6.5-7.0 grams. For reference, a plastic spoon is 2-6 grams.
