LoL, I'd wager Trump and Elon couldn't outrun at least 45% of the American Populace, even with every ml of adrenaline running through their veins and all the coke the 80's could offer.
The people hold the power of the purse. These are global companies, perhaps our friends in other countries who believe in democracy will do the strikes with us! No more subsidies for the biggest corporations on earth!
Do we all realize Elon's wealth is primarily the value of his stock?
You know, stock speculation, that that sits at the very top of the "risk pyramid."
Notice how when it came time for the down payment on X there goes the shares of stock to pay.
It's all digits on a computer screen.
Nobody wants to lead the charge only to find out no one's following them.
Even worse, the people who you were counting on might gasp and clutch their pearls, wagging a disappointed finger at you for going low and making them look bad.
I think right now everyone is just kind of waiting for something to happen. The vibes are similar to what was felt in the USSR in the 80s; Everyone knew that something massive was on the horizon but not what it was or when it would happen. This is clear here because the status quo is unsustainable
It doesn't help that the one thing Trump is actually good at is launching out SO MUCH bullshit that everyone's running around like headless chickens trying to keep up with the latest outrage.
"Is this what we need to focus on? Is it this one? Maybe that one? Oh no, a NEW one?!"
Absolutely correct! All the outrage over every single outrageous action/statement dilutes the impact. And we end up with "they're out to get him" reaction. Then they stop listening. Trump will change Republican minds if we let him. Everything needs to be reported without any hyperbole.
We need to keep up the protests. And absolutely slam the courts with lawsuits. (I bet lawyers are loving Trump right now) And calling all federal legislature representatives. And maybe state as well. And definitely state AG's.
Can confirm. My dental hygienist's only worry is getting her kids to sports and ballet practice. As though life is still going to remain normal, despite fascism, famine, water shortages, and climate change.
Most Americans have never had to fight for civil rights and think that things are just going to work themselves out, while they watch Love is Blind on Netflix.
I donβt even know at what point weβd see un uprising, or if such a point even exists.
WW3 is approaching and their heads are in the sand
I agree completely. I hope that when enough people personally feel the pain, Americans will realize how dire things are, rise up, and change will come.
My fear is that it won't happen in time.
Or as you said - not happen at all. We've had it too easy for too long. We've gone from this to this:
Yes! There's such a leadership void that we've delayed too long, not knowing what to do. I started an activist group in my community out of desperation. I hope to unite all the local groups so that we coordinate our efforts, maximize impact, and can mobilize a LOT of people with short notice.
