The game industry is actually really good at putting new composers on and not relying on the same names for decades like they do with other job positions, or like other industries do with all positions. You get a lot of fresh people who were just making cool shit and get a platform to go off

One more thing: you don't get amazing music moments from these first-time game composers despite them being new, but BECAUSE of it, because they are hungry to try the things they've thought about doing in game music and new enough to go for it without saying "well, I know this'll get rejected"

Typically in games, no one would ever do what I did and fully create every rap line choice in the rhyming puzzle in 2064: ROM, so that you could hear your choices reflected in real song. But for me it was within my skillset and not too hard, so I did it just because it's cool and I could.
