Far as I can tell, I'm not gonna be opening Prismatic Evolutions. At least not any time soon. Seeing the way people gouge the prices on that stuff, and that's through my eyes, let alone some kid who wants to open the newest stuff, it's just gross. A few years ago, when the Notre Dame fire happened, I got curious and looked up listings for 3D puzzles of the cathedral and sure enough, price gougers jacked up their prices because it 'wouldn't look the same'. They did the same shit with the NY set after 9/11. People suck. -_-

I got my box on release day at target for $50ish that morning. Went with a friend to a card/ttg shop later to see what they had.........ETB was $90 and limited to 1 per customer. The other release stuff was $40-$70ish ranges. It makes me not want to get more because of it

I just think about the kids too, like the idea of a kid going to get cards and some old dingle berry is standing there with all these packs, at that point I just assume you’re a horrible person.

yup, unfortunately it feels like people like us that actually think of others are a minority. I have a daughter and even then I still don't let her go overboard when I think the stock is limited.

The issue has even spilled over to single cards. I wanted to buy some non-chase single illustration cards and the English ones are double, sometimes triple the price of the Japanese counterparts. English Pokemon TCG is in shambles at the moment.

The issue is largely on distributors withholding stock so they can overcharge for it. Initial releases require certain prices from distributors but they aren’t required to sell any specific amount during that time. It’s such a horrible system.
