Not that there'd be any harm from increasing quotas to billions. If someone wants to move here so badly they are ready to give up what privileges they have, give them as warm welcome as can be had.
I say this is a naturalized immigrant myself who spent nearly 20 years in that horrible system
It almost doesn't matter how far to the right the Dems move bc the policy victims can't retaliate at the polls
The two most powerful Democrats in Congress are both from my city, and it's patently clear that our elected officials could not care less about what I (or their other constituents, tbqh) think.
That said I do acknowledge that I don't live in a major metro and Iowa (where I am) is a relative backwater
