shien and temu clothing is SO covered in fire-retardant chemicals and water repellant chemicals and pest deterrent chemicals to keep moths, roaches, and mice from eating or bedding in the bales of these clothes they process- and when you wash them off, the fabric disintegrates, so I doubt they do

A woman used to work for me who did biweekly SHEIN hauls for herself and her kid. Got absolutely enraged with me when I told her the clothes had unsafe levels of lead and formaldehyde.

this is why I love buying thrift stuff or pre-owned things off of poshmark- it's been laundered 1000 times so it's soft and worn in and practically indestructible
