This is the same thing that happened with UFOs, Atlantis, and aliens on cable TV in the 2010s. The paranormal conspiracies were the bait and then ufology and fringe archaeology funneled the audience straight into antigovernment conspiracies, white nationalism, and Trumpism.

The biggest WTF moment for me in this episode was when Candace Owens started an episode talking about Blake Lively and ended it doing Holocaust denial. Great example of how right-wing influencers can feed their ideology to people not seeking out political content.
