Wanted to help a company town revolt, spent half an hour planning to frame the owner for something, forged a doc that said he was under suspicion of something or other.

Guards rolled a bat 20 to sniff out the forgery.

We came back the next day, ambushed the guards, and the town lunched the boss.

Honestly from the player perspective it is a pretty limited range of choices unless the DM is ready to compensate. Take it from a Monk Enjoyer. The meta is kind of restrictive and the economy isn't great as well.

But the settings and the sourcebooks are a great resource even today.
