All I ask is just a neutral operating field; as long as the platform isn't actively encouraging them, and isn't suppressing efforts to avoid them, they won't be hard to sidestep.

Currently the feed is neutral so there's not a wacky algorithm either misguidedly chasing engagement or proactively pushing an agenda. But currently there's not a monetary reason to implement one.

At the moment they seem keen to build something decent. We're in the cool early phase though and ultimately it needs to find a way to make money. It's easy to predict its downfall but maybe they've got at least a loose plan of how to do all that without ruining it.

Maybe it'll go the same way. Perhaps we're seeing the inevitable pattern of a monetised social platform play out from the start again. But - as always - I have hope. Without that we've lost already.
