A little hard to understand why there aren’t massive, millions strong protests paralysing every city in the US right now. Facebook posts aren’t going to cut it

There are some, but not what I expected either. Several factors:
-It's freezing/post LA fires.
-Overwhelming number of issues is causing disfuction.
-There is no leadership. Gay bars are discouraging protesting until a trusted group is leading.
-The activism-inclined have lost trust with the DNC.
I think folks by and large don’t see themselves as needing that yet. I don’t think they realise they’re on the brink of becoming the Refugees so many of them vilify. There’s that and just the general American attitude of “Someone (who isn’t me) should do something about this.”
I live pretty close to my state capitol. But it’s still 50 miles/80 km, with 0 transit options to get there. Kentucky isn’t a large state, but it’s still roughly 20% larger than Ireland.
