Most replies are missing the disingenuous catch here: He will vote 'yes' on cloture, which is the only leverage dems have, and then 'no' on the bill when his vote no longer matters. There is no courage being shown here without a 'no' vote on cloture.
Senator Warnock is being a little cagey - says he will vote no on the CR but is silent so far on his vote for cloture. He needs to respond to his constituents and take a stand for democracy. That's why we voted for him.
Schumer actually made a thought-provoking point on Chris Hayes tonight: a government shutdown would allow Trump to close the courts. That would be a disaster, since the courts have been standing in the way of some of the Trump/Musk Regime's worst actions.

The CR bill passes with 51 votes instead of 60 if cloture is agreed to with 8 Dem Senate votes. Dem votes on the bill itself is meaningless once the cloture vote is cleared (GOP has 51 votes guaranteed).
I doubt Schumer would've made his "I'M VOTING YES" speech if he didn't have the 7 other D votes needed to pass CR. Fetterman (shock) already said yes. Just 6 more knee-benders needed. I was nauseous when I heard Schumer, cuz I felt like this was our last chance to take a hard stand vs the insanity.
Honestly, no voter will respect a Democrat who votes for this. We will just think they’re turncoats. Ossoff is probably doing what will help him most at the ballot box, even if that isn’t his motivation.

Georgia is a weird state. 55% is Atlanta and the rest is just at large hoping for a new factory or plant.
Don't mistake the ATL for the rest of the state. A lot of the state is rural, and they would sooner open up a vein than vote for a D regardless.
