I might open it back up again even if the tariff doesn't go down in the future, but at least for now it seems like a lot of people still don't understand the tariff, so I don't want anyone to get a surprise bill to recieve their package and get upset or I have to explain it again 😭 but tysm Kuroo!!!

If you're sending your Chinese-bought items from Canada, Americans won't be subject to 142% tariffs, only if the chinese manufacturer is sending out your items to customers in America. I believe for goods coming from Canada the tariff is 25%
So basically if you send out your items from your own home the tariff is only 25%, even if the items originally came from China. The tariffs apply to wherever the item is being sent from--where it was originally produced doesnt factor into it
And I'm not even sure if 25% applies cause I haven't looked into the specifics of the Canada tariffs, last I remember seeing it only applied to certain goods and I don't believe merch items were included
Ah the shipping company told us themselves that as long as the item is made in china originally, it does not matter where it is shipping from. Actually some people were caught today labelling chinese items as canada made and were fined, so it's spoopy.
if a package has 1 chinese item and the rest are canadian, there is a 25% tariff on the canadian items as well. but if theres no made in china items, then no canadian tariff applies to the package either
I've seen in servers some people wondering if they could get around the tariffs by shipping to a proxy first, but it doesn't matter because it's based on where it is manufactured, not where it is coming from :/
