Similarly just adding to the echo chamber. I've been pushing $5 sketches when my work is worth significantly more, just out of desperation.. which I've never had to resort to. Last time I did these were 10 bucks and I was inundated. Now I'm practicing throwing them at people.

i don't know if it helps to hear, but i've felt particularly similarly 😔🤝💕 feeling like it has to be a you problem, obviously, when it seems like so many other artists aren't struggling as much. but i think the market is just saturated-- so many layoffs, so much unemployment. it's difficult --

fewer people have disposable income, more that do are saving to get big comms from artists who are only recently opening things up. but truthfully i think a lot of people just can't justify too much spending right now
your art and designs are phenomenal! it's just really difficult being an artist rn

doubly so if you aren't cutting your own prices down to nothing for people TO justify spending. there's a really difficult balance, and a lot of mutual aid, and a lot of uncertainty. i hope you're able to fight that feeling that it's you, because i promise it isn't 💕 it's hard, though

I appreciate you saying all of this 🫂 deep down I know I’m not the problem (nor are you in your case!!). Sometimes it’s just hard, especially as you said seeing other people sell out & not doing the same. But comparison is a beast in its own right, and I do know everyone is struggling right now

and i you! hopefully we weather this and things get better-- a lot of people in the world right now are doing their best to make it that way. it's a hard battle but art will never cease its importance after necessities
