Klemperer shows again and again how Nazi habits of speech—words, phrases, concepts—wormed their way even into the language of people who were anti-Nazi, even into Jews (Klemperer includes himself here), and persisted even after 1945. I hope someone is documenting this sort of thing right now.

I have only read Klemperer’s diaries (including a chilling description of the British destruction of Dresden) but his writing in those was very evocative and clear.

I can imagine he’d have something to say about the use of “DEI” and “CRT”.

trump always complains about the media. He praises Victor Orban of Hungary. Hungary’s extreme far right government controls 80% of media, which was done by buying out media or closing them down.
