First time one saw a pregnancy screening lab package on someone born this millenium: "a bit young isn't she... [does the math] no, not actually unreasonable"
Drinking less? The gen Z in my country drink a lot more then we gen X ever did? They invented coma drinking, drinking so much that they end in a hospital.
This! Alcohol was normalized. My government has started campaigning to end abuse of alcohol especially with kids. New law, alcohol forbidden for under18 but it can get bypassed by parents. Now they have a campaign showing what the brain damage can be when giving kids alcohol.
The younger generation, in the USA, is drinking way less that the ones that came b4 them.
I suspect it's b/c they see the older people. They see them coming in and out of rehab. They see the fucked up relationships and lives. The damage is right out there.
Weed, xtc or cocain. 10 euro for 1 xtc pill and they have fun for many hours on techno partiesπ
I think it could be like smoking cigarettes, it's something boomers do and they don't want to look like boomers?
They vape instead.
USA, you guys have strickt laws for drinking, do kids of 14 to 16 years old end in a hospital because of drinking?
Students are proud that they can drink so much.
Itβs adorable that you consider 18 year old enlisted, βgrown up.β Iβve campaigned for years to stop sending fresh out of training troops overseas for their first posting, because they lose their damn minds, suddenly having their own money, being away from parents and suddenly able to drink legally.
Gen Z is about 1997 to 2012. So even going by the US and our generally higher age requirement, so a little less than half the age group seeing as of posting this, most of those born in 2003 can drink in the US.
Look if i care. Naaaa i grow up in the city chablie. yes you know the wine. i was a factory kid so its mean i was NOTHING for professor and such. i am GLAD this industry can die!
And Alhamdulillah for it being the Alcohol industry, Ethanol is a terrible drug it's got a very high potential for Abuse, it's a Livertoxin, it smells terrible, and the benefits are vastly outweighed by the Cons
my real guess is millenials growing out of their college years and into more stable adult lives, i quit drinking a long time ago, i didnt like alcohol but it helped me get drowsy to reset my sleep cycle and then became a problem lol, i prefer weed a lot more i was really awful when drunk or hungover
Oh, is this post why I'm getting a bunch of new follows? π
I'm not that interesting, promise. Try one of my mates @pepperraccoon.bsky.social @blackmudpuppy.bsky.social or @vaspider.gay, they're funnier and have art and merch ππ»
They were mad at Millennials for spending $ on alcohol when we could have been saving up and denying ourselves any and all vices and pleasures for three decades to possibly afford a downpayment on a 1500 sq ft house, so now of course they're mad at Gen Z for the opposite. π€
It'll be interesting to see what happens to fast food too. I know ppl will always use it but it'll be less often since the Internet is wildly available to tell you how bad it can be for you.

It's time to dust off the old memes eh?

....or maybe they just love Fentanyl.

USA-ers are waaaay more fucking stupid/problematic than Europeans in the realm of alcohol, imho
As per drunken assholes go, we take the cake
it is known.
Students are proud that they can drink so much.

They grow up so fast.
Wish I had that when I was younger.
