As an old I predate it with a horribly large VHS tv recording addiction as a teen lmao. Then continued Napster, then KaZaA and Morpheus, Limewire later. Eventually DC++ (which I still use to this day and is fantastic for comics) and then into torrents and ddl websites where I remain to this day.
Yeah, my friends and I had a legit pirate ring in junior high of C-64 and Atari 400/800 games on floppy and cassette. Between that and selling ring pops, we ran the school haha. 40 years later and still sailing the high seas.
Also—that was an amazing feeling when I connected to the campus Ethernet for the first time! 😂 I had only ever used dial-up before freshman year. I would stay up all night downloading music in my dorm room.
