We kick off with a residential in September, where you’ll meet your cohort, and spend time together exploring the challenges of the region, the assets in the communities that you serve, and the opportunities to improve education in the East of England.

Each term, you’ll be set a ‘headteacher task’ which is practical and designed to develop your own understanding of how you will lead a school. There are no written assignments, but you will be expected to present your findings to the rest of your cohort.

You’ll also attend termly ‘study tours’ to some of the best schools in the country.

These are structured, group visits, with opportunities to hear from leaders and get under the hood of how and why they make the decisions they do.

Termly conferences will give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of school leadership and strengthen relationships with your cohort.

They will be there to support and challenge you as you apply for your first headship, and will be there to collaborate once you’ve each taken up that post.

Alongside all of this, you’ll have access to an online platform that includes 3 modules of asynchronous content (16 videos per term), and webinars roughly once a month.
