while its not necessarily something to be worried about, its still important to inform others about it. while it doesnt exactly "scan" all your photos, it still searches for private or sensitive content, nudes specifically. this feature wasnt announced or disclosed to users.
the bottom line is that this is simply bloatware, and not something that you should immediately trust in. this isnt something that youd install yourself, especially if it were from a smaller company, and its important to detail how to uninstall it for users that dont want their nudes scanned for.
Agree! I just want to make sure people don’t freak out for the wrong reasons, to be honest. Google has already scanned their user’s photos and falsely reported people to the police, so there’s no reason why they would add another layer of “scanning” when they can already see all your data
