Anyway to this day I remember how I felt when I realized that he'd *cheated* by using an outside book and then my feelings when I remembered the answer to the problem from that book. LOL I have always wondered how that looked to everyone else. - ThreadSky

i had a somewhat similar story. i couldn't sleep at home so i'd always sleep in class, and my grades were always at the top so no one cared. but whenever we'd get a new teacher, it'd take a few months for us to start doing tests and getting grades, before they'd learn to leave me alone and mind --

their own business. so over the years i learned i needed to "put them in their place" early on, to save future headache. i don't know the mechanism but i'd often wake up the minute the teacher made some kind of mistake. then i'd raise my hand and go "should X be Y instead?" and go back to sleep.

the last time this happened it was a new school, the teacher was some hotshot who wrote books about the topic and whatnot. he was petrified lol. after that, the rich kids stopped treating me like a junkie and started simply ignoring me, which i appreciated :)
