Seriously, they should have found some A-list American heroes to name those bases. It's not hard. They wouldn't dare rename Fort Eisenhower for some traitor Confederate general, right?
Since we're going to be renaming things after enemy combatants can Liberty International Airport be renamed Osama bin Laden Airport? They just renamed Fort Liberty for an enemy combatant. The baggage letters could be OBL how cool would that be?
I think you're overthinking this. People don't like it when you change the names of things—that's it. It's as simple as that. You don't think that's real, so you have to imagine they have to prefer the old name for some other reason, but they don't. They just don't like names being changed.
I'm just surprised they didn't change it to Ft. Trump. Bet the people who you say "don't like to change the names of things" would be perfectly happy then.
Yes, I bet they would, because while they hate names changing, they love sticking it to their enemies. That's why they support renaming the Gulf: They see that as justified retribution for what was done to them.
You have to realize: In their minds, the misery that you and I are now experiencing at this bulldozing presidency is the same misery that you inflict on them when Democrats are in power.
What "misery?" What was "done to them?" Not being able to control and harm other people? Not being able to give full expression to their appetite for cruelty? Or was it paying taxes that was intolerable?
It's called thinking outside the box. Option #1, put out a statement that the Bragg namesake is being changed from Confederate General Braxton Bragg to Private First Class Roland L. Bragg. (No Cost), OR Option #2 name it Fort Liberty and spend 2 million dollars on the change 🙄
So we should see a Fort Lee named after a Bob Lee of Plains Georgia who was in the Navy in 1961 for six months and is notable for bringing a pet cat onboard his ship.
